Mid-Season Review (Limerick style)

It's Limerick Review Time.....obviously!!

I know we played Bath and there’s normally a Match Report (of which I’d say some extended version of ‘the boys battled well….after another sloppy start to gain a good victory over a team that really like to spread the ball and play some nice football’), but at the half way point, I like to do some random review. So, here it is. Press play above (if you wish) and follow below.

With this report I hope I transfix

While you read my Limericks

Twelve boys to get through

A light-hearted review

From Coaches Lee and Wix

Jaidon Aitchenson

His position, number one

Saving shots the biz

A great character he is

Making coaching him such fun

Next, I have to admit

The thought of another Liggett

It caused us a scare

But he’s lovely to be fair

In this team is a very good fit

The Centre Back of Max

One of many B team class acts

Loves going to floor

Winning tackles galore

Stopping attackers in their tracks

Next up we have our Ben

Whose effort is always a ten

His tackles aren’t soft

Often smiles aloft

Could be a leader amongst these young men

Saunders is quite versatile

We could see that from the very first trial

Loves the ball at his feet

His humour’s a treat

Often making us all really smile

Oscar Giddy loves a win

Took us ages to see that grin

Now he seems quite happy

Definite cheeky chappy

A delight to coach, he’s been

Although Joseph’s slow to start

Going forwards plays a main part

He’s lovely and polite

A Coaches’ delight

Goes at everything he does with heart

Liam comes across quite chilled

But when he plays well, I know he’s thrilled

Covers sooo much ground

Running round and round

A good trait that seem so instilled

Another cheeky chap Harley Neate

Who really likes to compete

Down the wing seems to boss

He loves a good cross

And is actually really quite sweet

I want to listen when Jackson does speak

In this team he’s really unique

He tackles a lot

Enjoys a long shot

And you can’t argue with his technique

For what he’s learnt, Jose should have pride

A natural finish is often applied

Loves to run at the goal

With so much control

Even better now he knows the offside

You see this kid’s smile from the car park

Of course, I talk of Baden Clarke

He can play anywhere

Which is really quite rare

For adaptability he’s the benchmark

Because of Covid it’s been consequential

The boys can struggle to reach their potential

Tours we’ve had to forgo

But, there’s some way to go

To become a team quite quintessential

So as Christmas draws ever so near

These words I say so sincere

To everyone

Please stay safe and have fun

And we’ll see you again next year
