Gloucester B 3-1 Woking B
Gloucester’s B Squad returned to winning ways with a hard-fought victory over their Woking counterparts in Round One of the Geoff Richards KO.
The two teams largely cancelled each other out before the break, Sam Easterbrook going closest for the hosts after being set up by Ben Flatt.
With Arrowsmith, Flatt and Easterbrook starting to dominate the midfield, Gloucester claimed the lead eight minutes after the break when Inyinbor’s run and left wing cross was well finished by Lock.
Five minutes later Easterbrook made good ground up the right and his delivery saw Lock double his own and his team’s tally.
The home defence of Irvine, Campbell and Harding, well backed up by keeper Cornwell kept Woking at bay until Day’s drive reduced the arrears with seven minutes remaining.
A fine strike from Luke Taylor who drove powerfully home from the edge of the box after being set up by Fieldhouse settled the nerves however, as Gloucester set up a home tie with Bexley in the next round.
